Chinese President Xi Jinping met with UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Chief Muhammad at the Great Hall of the People on the 25th.
Xi Jinping pointed out that during his visit to the UAE last July, the two countries announced the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership which opened a new chapter in the development of China-Arab relations. The Chinese side regards the United Arab Emirates as an important partner for the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative. The two sides should steadily promote pragmatic cooperation with energy cooperation as the main axis, investment and infrastructure construction as the two wings, and high-tech as the growth point. In the next phase, we will develop an innovative development strategy and establish a new growth point for cooperation between the two countries. We must deepen cooperation in the security field, such as combating terrorism, extremist forces and jointly safeguard the security and stability of the two countries and regions. The “Hala China” initiative proposed by the Vice President has been well received by the UAE people and will continue to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries. China supports Emirates in hosting the Middle East’s first World Expo in the next year.
